About Us
The Northern Trombone Quartet has been formed as an alternative chamber ensemble, not just for the North West, but for national, and international engagements. All the members of the quartet are currently studying at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.

A Brief History
The quartet was formed in the early part of 2002 as a result of lots of talk amongst the players about forming a new trombone quartet. After much discussion the first rehersal was planned and carried out... with surprising success. A successful performance at the RNCM led to our first outside engagement in the Yorkshire village of HolmFirth. The concert went so well that we didn't hesitate to push the quartet to the limits (with regards to our schedule and repetoire!), the result... the Northern Trombone Quartet. A quartet that constantly strives to challenge players and listeners with new, exciting music aswell as more traditional, fun repetoire.
